What : Facebook is the most popular social network on which you can post pictures, comments, videos and talk with friends and family.

When : Facebook was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg. Him and his roomates first created it for Harvard students exclusivaly. 

Who : Facebook was Eventually opened to other universities like Boston University and Standford University. It gradually started being used by more and more universities and was shortly after opened to high school students. Since 2006 anyone over the age of thirteen with a valid email adress can have a facebook account.

Pros and Cons

Pros :

• You can share pictures  and videos with your friends and family all over the world
• You can talk with friends and family anywhere
• Facebook Is free, all you need is an internet connection
• You can choose who your facebook friends are and who can see what you post online
• It's a great way to find out about events like concerts in your city, etc.
• You can connect your facebook to many websites to have a better web experience
• If you have a company you can advertise and create a Facebook page with information about your company
• You can follow pages about your favorite actors, signers, tv shows, movies, etc.

Cons :

• What you post on Facebook can be seen by a lot of people, you need to adjust your privacy settings. Even with the privacy settings it is possible that random individuals visit your profile
• When you post pictures, videos and comments that can be seen by your facebook friends it is possible for then to copy and save your information, pictures, videos, comments.
• What you post on Facebook will stay on until you delete your account completly. If you disactivate your account all your inforamation will be saved until you return or permanatly delete your account.
• When you delete your account your information can stay online for up to 90 days before being deleted
• Facebook has no way of knowing if what people post is true, this can lead to older people trying to get in contact with young kids or kids younger than thirteen making a facebook account
• No one can really know who visits their page which can lead to stalking
• Since everything is done anonymously it is possible that some poeple use Facebook to spread computer viruses or scams
