What : Tumblr is a fun and easy to use blog where you can post or reblog pictures, Gifs, videos, text posts, from other users. You can also follow other blogs and be followed by other users allowing you to be uptated on what they post regularly. You can also communicate with other users by sending them questions or comments in their ask box.
When : Tumblr was founded in february 2007 by David Karp. Tumblr now contains over 102 million blogs.

Pros and Cons
Pros :
- Very simple to use
- You can design your own blog and make it the way you want, post what you want etc.
- You can make your blog public or private
- You can post anything you like and tag it so that other users can find it and reblog it, you can also see exactly what users rebloged or liked what you posted
- You can find anything you like on Tumblr, If you like clothes, shoes, music, traveling, etc, you can find it by simply searching its tag and finding blogs that post about your intrest. Tumblr is very diversified.
- If a user is bothering you you can block them which will prevent them from sending you any messages or following your blog
- Easy to use on a mobile device
Cons :
- You can only post or reblog 250 photos, videos, text post etc, per day
- You can only upload 75 original pictures a day
- When you have exceede the post limit you can still view the media present on tumblr but you can't post it to your own blog
- Anyone can save what you upload and claim it is theirs
- Anyone can see what you post so you have to make sure that you only post what you want the world to see
- It is possible to send anonymous messages to other users which sometimes can lead to people sending hatefull messages
